A “New Economy” on the “Island of the Gods” — unknown DA

Amongst the trends emerging more important to people, I think, is the need for simplicity in life. It’s indicative of a cultural shift toward less of the ‘more is more’ for materialism sake & a greater emphasis on efficiency, value & sustainability to help reduce the damage we’re doing to “mother earth”. In Bali, I witnessed an enormous shift of collective consciousness in this manner compared to my prior visits. A great transformation within their culture that is enticing entrepreneurs & innovators from all over the world to set-up shop on their tropical island at a fraction of the cost-of-living vs. the west, which is, in turn allowing space for creativity to flourish.

There’s a “new economy” of “digital nomads” running their businesses from a laptop or their phones in chic coffee shops. Other businesses have renovated buildings next to local market shops or Hindu temples & moved their HQ’s to Bali from far-&-wide, all of which is welcome investment to the island. As such, a very entrepreneurial set, seeing this “cost-effective” opportunity, have flocked to Bali, which is a very different community vs. pre-covid.
