I truly believe that we are defined by how we thrive in chaos i.e. how we respond to difficult life events. .

I have found that the lowest of circumstances can force out the best in us, because, as humans, we are wired to survive, & therefore have an innate hunger to want to bounce from a low point once we hit it, if we accept it. As such, we cannot allow uncontrollable events to drown us, instead we adapt to gather enough strength and knowledge to work with what is in front of us, living, not as we wish to [for now] but as we can….

My heart goes out to the communities & individuals, healthcare workers & others on the front line most deeply hit by the COVID-19 crisis #nhsheroes …..like everyone, I’ve found it difficult to suddenly be forced to adapt to the situation that we all find ourselves in due to lockdown. Creating alternative coping mechanisms to the ones I’ve built up to help shield myself & calm my mind has been a struggle e.g. NOT going to the gym. At first, I didn’t want to accept that I needed to find workarounds to help myself. Eventually, at the low point, I had no choice but to simply CANCEL those negative thoughts, & RE-TRAIN MY BRAIN [and gym workouts to home bodyweight workouts] RE-realising that we all have the ability to change ANYTHING if we learn to take control of the thoughts in our MIND, which are the controller of our actions & therefore where our POWER to direct our lives manifests.

There is opportunity in chaos, & what we’re going through, aside health safety, is a test of our MIND. So, we can either DECIDE to be weak & down (yes, it’s a DECISION) or be strong and push ourselves towards MAXIMUM MENTAL TOUGHNESS to see how far we can improvise on alternative solutions… .

Accepting bad chapters for what they are, can still create great stories & lead us to the right place & successes, we just have to DECIDE to LOOK. The beginning is always today & IT ALL STARTS WITH YOU! .
