Mexican Finale
MEXICAN FINALE SERIES 5: CHAMULA POMPON REBOZO: ICONIC PIECE @carlafernandezmx
The Rebozo is handwoven on a pedal loom & designed with braided fringes & pompons as decorative endings. POMPONS are part of the clothing of the Tzotzil ethnic group of the Mayan region of Chiapas. Both men and women use them in hats, cotton clothing or to braid hair. They were traditionally made of wool dyed with natural dyes.
The artisans of the region continue to preserve these customs & @carlafernandezmx products are made in creative & productive collaboration with Mexican artisans. Hence, their elaboration involves manual processes that generate variations in colors and textures.
